Judge blocks Mo. from revoking Planned Parenthood license

A federal judge yesterday blocked Missouri from revoking the abortion license of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Columbia.

Judge Nanette Laughrey said the state treated the clinic more harshly than similar institutions and had moved to withdraw the license because of political pressure from some state lawmakers.

Planned Parenthood of Kansas and mid-Missouri filed suit in September after the state health department announced it would revoke the license Dec. 1.
