Judge blocks Missouri's abortion-restricting rules

A federal judge in Kansas City yesterday blocked abortion-restricting rules in Missouri.

In his preliminary injunction, U.S. District Judge Howard Sachs said he's bound by a U.S. Supreme Court ruling. He said Missouri has denied abortion rights "on a daily basis, in irreparable fashion."

Only one licensed abortion clinic still exists in Missouri — a Planned Parenthood center in St. Louis.
