A federal judge yesterday blocked construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline.
Judge Brian Morris of the U.S. District Court for Montana said in his ruling the pipeline cannot move forward without a full review of its environmental impact.
The nearly 1,200-mile pipeline from TransCanada Corp. is designed to carry 800,000 barrels of petroleum a day to Gulf Coast refineries from Canadian oil sands.
