JQH invests $1.2 million in Kentucky Holiday Inn

John Q. Hammons Hotels Inc. announced it has invested $1.2 million in capital improvements to its 218-room Univers-ity Plaza Hotel in Bowling Green, Ky.|ret||ret||tab|

The improvements include new branding as a Holiday Inn Hotel and upgraded physical features, like the Hammons' signature multistoried garden atrium and water feature, ac-cording to a press release.|ret||ret||tab|

John Q. Hammons attended the April 25 grand reopening and ribbon cutting ceremony at the renamed Holiday Inn Uni-versity Plaza.|ret||ret||tab|

Ron Sowell, chairman-elect to the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Board of Direc-tors, said the renovated hotel will fill a need in the area's business community.|ret||ret||tab|

Also during the ceremony, Hammons received an autographed basketball from the Western Kentucky University men's basketball team for his support of the school.|ret||ret||tab|

John Q. Hammons Hotels, which is publicly traded on the American Stock Exchange un-der the symbol JQH, has 56 hotels with brands of Holiday Inn, Embassy Suites, Renai-ssance, Marriott, Radisson, Crowne Plaza, Residence Inn, Homewood Suites and Hamp-ton Inn & Suites.[[In-content Ad]]
