Grannell was working as the senior director of account development for Colorado-based Level 3 Communications Inc. He previously was vice president of business development for San Diego-based Wireless Facilities Inc. and worked for more than 10 years in management positions with Sprint.
“Mark’s highly successful career includes broadband business development, IP-based applications deployment and network management – all key components of our organization’s strategy,” chairman and founder Hank Hoffman said in a news release.
The company’s Board of Directors accepted Graham’s resignation as CEO, president and board member on Jan. 31. The company’s Feb. 2 announcement did not specify a reason for Graham’s departure.
Graham joined SiriCOMM as interim CEO in July and agreed to serve for an initial term of three to six months, according to documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Graham’s hire coincided with Hoffman stepping down from the president and CEO roles and agreeing to serve as chairman for two years.
Graham, then 56, had been acting as a private investor and has been active in philanthropic organizations for the past seven years, according to the filing. From 2001 to 2005, he was active in the management of Classic Card Co., which he owned with his wife. The couple still owned the company when he joined SiriCOMM, but said they were no longer involved in its management. He previously worked in the transportation industry.
SiriCOMM offers broadband Internet service and applications for the highway transportation industry. The company promotes itself as the largest Wi-Fi network dedicated to truckers and highway travelers. SiriCOMM’s Wi-Fi hot spots are available across the country at Pilot, Love’s and Petro truck stops and weigh stations that feature PrePass.[[In-content Ad]]
