Joplin senior center receives $8K grant

Posted online
The Independent Living Center in Joplin has received a grant from the Home Instead Senior Care Foundation to help senior citizens and others with physical disabilities maintain their independence.

According to a news release, the center received an $8,000 grant from the foundation for the center’s community reintegration program. The Joplin center is one of 18 to receive funding from the foundation this year.

“Our missions are very similar to The Independent Living Center, as we both help improve the quality of life for older adults,” said Paul Hogan, executive director of the foundation, in a news release. “We are pleased to be able to provide financial support to The Independent Living Center for the advocacy, safety and well-being of seniors.”

Founded in 1994, The Independent Living Center works to remove barriers that limit independence for senior citizens and those with disabilities.[[In-content Ad]]
