The Joplin Board of Education voted against participating in MOSO CAPS, a new academic program being offered in collaboration with Missouri Southern State University.
At issue for some board members is the cost of CAPS, or the Center for Advanced Professional Studies. It would have cost the district $147,382 annually, regardless of whether all 59 allocated seats were filled.
The boards of the Webb City and Carl Junction school districts already voted to participate in MOSO CAPS.
