Joplin obtains default judgment in Wallace Bajjali lawsuit

Posted online
Joplin's former master development firm is on the hook for more than $1.48 million to the city of Joplin and the Joplin Redevelopment Corp. in a default judgment granted Wednesday by a Jasper County judge.

A representative from Wallace Bajjali Development Partners did not respond to the city's lawsuit within 30 days, which is treated the same as admission to the allegations, according to the Joplin Globe.

Joplin and the JRC filed the lawsuit March 25, claiming the firm breached its contract with the city by walking away from its duties to pursue economic development projects.
