Joplin disaster-planning series starts today

The St. Bernard Project – a homebuilding group formed after Hurricane Katrina that has been active in Joplin since the May 2011 tornado – has joined forces with the city of Joplin, the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce and Missouri Southern State University to host a series of disaster-planning programs for business owners.

Beginning today and running through tomorrow, officials with SBP will address a variety of topics through five business-focused programs and three residential programs.

There is one business program scheduled today from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Joplin City Hall.
