Joplin City Council votes against mask ordinance

Joplin City Council last night threw out a proposed ordinance to require masks in the city's businesses and other public places.

However, council members voted to approve a plan to supply masks for free to residents who want to use them.

The decisions come amid rising COVID-19 cases in southwest Missouri, including the Joplin area.
