Johnson & Johnson agreed to pay the state of New York more than $230 million to settle an opioid case.

J&J officials said the settlement did not represent an admission of liability or wrongdoing.

A New York trial is set to begin soon on the opioid epidemic and the roles pharmaceutical companies have played in it.
