Johnson & Johnson sells division for $4B

New Brunswick, N.J.-based Johnson & Johnson said Monday it accepted Carlyle Group LP's offer to acquire its ortho-clinical diagnostics business for about $4 billion.

Carlyle submitted its bid for the division in January, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The ortho-clinical diagnostics business provides in vitro diagnostic products and also transfusion donor screening and blood typing products.
