Johnny Morris asked to co-chair Trump charity event

Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris has an invitation to co-chair a post-inaugural charity event held by Donald Trump.

The Springfield News-Leader reached out to Bass Pro spokesman Jack Wlezien, who could not confirm whether Morris plans to attend the event scheduled Jan. 21.

"Our understanding is the details are still coming together," Wlezien told the News-Leader.

The article cited reporting by TMZ referring to an "Opening Day 2017" event the day after Trump is sworn in as president. Morris is being asked to co-chair an event to raise money for conservation charities.
