Posted online
Construction is under way at Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks’ new John P. “Jack” Heitz Center following a March 18 ground-breaking event at 3372 W. Battlefield.

The 3,000-square-foot, single-story structure is scheduled for completion by fall. The estimated construction cost is $350,000, not including donated services and a donated long-term land lease, in addition to financial contributions from John Heitz, Dick and Anise Pendleton and Susan Boswell, said Morris Dock of general contractor MoDoCo and a member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Directors. Butler, Rosenbury & Partners is the architect for the project, and Malone, Finkle, Eckhardt & Collins is the mechanical engineer. The structure’s exterior will be brick, exterior insulated finish system and vinyl, Dock said.
