John McLaughlin, the longtime host of “The McLaughlin Group,” died yesterday of prostate cancer. He was 89.
The show, which launched in 1982, broadcast on select CBS and PBS stations.
According to The New York Times, McLaughlin was a former Roman Catholic priest who became an aide to Richard Nixon in the White House. That work led him to his political, partisan TV show.
Under the weight of rising health care costs, an increasing number of people are surging to the Health Insurance Marketplace rather than opting for employer-sponsored plans.
