Joe’s Crab Shack to test no-tipping policy

Joe’s Crab Shack announced yesterday it would test a no-tipping system in one of the largest trials yet of the policy.

The company, which has over 130 restaurants, will test the system at 18 of its locations.

While menu costs will rise to cover the added labor costs, the company indicated the increases would be less than the average 20 percent tip.
