The Labor Department today reported first-time unemployment claims last week fell to the lowest level of the coronavirus pandemic era.
Data show 348,000 Americans filed for benefits last week, down 29,000 from the prior week.
Continuing claims, at 2.8 million, also hit a pandemic low.
