J.O.B. Public House set to reopen tomorrow

Posted online

J.O.B. Public House is reopening this week in downtown Springfield.

The 319 E. Walnut St. bar and restaurant announced on Facebook that 11 a.m. April 10 would mark its opening.

"We've put in many hours to test, prepare and make sure everything is ready for you," the post reads.

In late 2023, downtown business owners Chris and Nicole Brown and Clayton and Anne Baker purchased the J.O.B. Public House business and building from the family of Danny Schlink, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. Schlink, a restaurateur known for J.O.B. and Grad School, died in December 2022.

"We really loved the culture that Danny and his crew created over the years," Chris Brown said in January. "We felt like it was an asset to downtown."

Brown previously said the Full Ride – historically comprising two beef patties joined by cheese, caramelized onions, bacon, lettuce and tomato – would be among returning food items on a scaled-back version of J.O.B. and Grad School’s menu. Whiskey, too, would be among the bar selections.

The Browns additionally own The MudLounge and the Bakers run Civil Kitchen, Finnegan's Wake and Tinga Tacos.
