J&J to pay $120M to settle hip implant claims

Johnson & Johnson and its DePuy Orthopaedics unit agreed to a $120 million settlement with 46 states.

The settlement follows allegations that DePuy engaged in deceptive marketing to promote its ASR XL and Pinnacle Ultamet hip implant devices.

DePuy allegedly made misleading claims about the longevity of the metal-on-metal hip implants.
