J&J plans SCOTUS appeal over $2B baby powder verdict

Johnson & Johnson is planning to appeal a decision from Missouri's highest court.

The Missouri Supreme Court yesterday let stand a June decision by a state appeals court related to the company's baby powder. In the case, J&J has been ordered to pay more than $2 billion to women who blamed their ovarian cancer on asbestos in its baby powder and other talc products.

The company is setting aside a $2.1 billion reserve for the verdict.
