Jimmy John’s settles with New York on noncompete contracts

The Jimmy John’s sandwich chain agreed to stop including noncompete agreements in hiring packets used for low-wage workers in New York, according to state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

The clauses prohibited employees from working for any nearby business that gets at least 10 percent of its sales from sandwiches for two years after they left.

Illinois’ attorney general earlier this month also sued Jimmy John’s over the contracts.
