Amazon.com Inc. founder Jeff Bezos is now the world's richest person, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
His net worth hit $150 billion this week, making him about $55 billion richer than Microsoft Corp. co-founder Bill Gates, the world's second-richest person.
Bezos, 54, also topped Gates in inflation-adjusted terms. Gates in 1999 hit $100 billion, which today is valued at $149 billion, according to Bloomberg.
