JD.com Inc., China’s biggest online retailer, and Canadian e-commerce service Shopify entered a strategic partnership.
The alliance is designed to help independent U.S. merchants access JD.com’s 550 million customers.
Company officials said the partnership would allow U.S. brands to start selling in China within four weeks. Currently, it can take up to a year to engage in cross-border sales.
