J.C. Penney reports smaller-than-expected loss

J.C. Penney today reported a smaller-than-expected loss. However, revenue fell short of expectations.

The company posted a net loss of 5 cents per shares on revenue of $2.92 billion.

Analysts were looking for a loss of 15 cents per share on $2.93 billion in revenue.
