J.C. Penney 4Q loss widens

Department store operator J.C. Penney reported a widened net loss in the fourth quarter.

The company posted a net loss of $131 million for the quarter, worse than the loss of $35 million a year earlier.

Sales rose 2.6 percent to $4 billion, compared with analysts' expectations of $3.99 billion.
