Meat supplier JBS announced Wednesday it paid $11 million in cryptocurrency to hackers that launched a ransomware attack against the company over Memorial Day weekend.
"This was a very difficult decision to make for our company and for me personally," JBS USA CEO Andre Nogueira said. "We felt this decision had to be made to prevent any potential risk for our customers."
The cyberattack has been linked to Russia-based hackers.
