JBS Food Canada is recalling more than 38,400 pounds of ground beef imported into the United States.
The beef was not presented for import reinspection, leading the U.S. Department of Agriculture to classify the announcement as a Class I recall. The USDA defines the level of recall as a "health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death."
There have been no reported cases of illness from the products, the recall notice indicates.
