Lowell, Ark.-based transportation company J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. (Nasdaq: JBHT) reported first-quarter earnings of $100.1 million, a 9 percent increase from $91.9 million in the same quarter last year.
Revenue landed at $1.5 billion in the first quarter, up from $1.4 billion a year earlier.
Intermodal services generated $895 million during the quarter, a 6 percent increase from 2015. Revenue from dedicated contract services rose 4 percent to $358 million, while operating income jumped 25 percent to $44.8 million.
