Japan’s Nikkei Average climbed Friday to 19,560.22, markting its best close since April 2000. For the week, the index increased 1.6 percent – the sixth week in a row of gains.
The upward trajectory for the Nikkea comes as the Yen softened against the dollar, declining 0.52 percent late Thursday.
In addition, Shanghai stocks rose for an eighth day in a row Friday, landing above 3,600 for the first time in seven years, according to MarketWatch.
