Officials with Japanese public broadcaster NHK said Wednesday a staff member accidentally sent out an alert about a North Korean missile fired at Japan.
The broadcaster is looking at preventive measures, but did not provide further details.
The false alarm Tuesday followed an incident just days ago in Hawaii when emergency authorities mistakely warned residents of a missile attack.
