Japanese conglomerate to sell personal robots with emotions

Posted online
Japan’s Internet conglomerate Softbank will start selling personal robots in February with the ability to read emotions, sign for packages and help kids with their homework.

According to Fox Business, these robots will retail for about $1,900.

Though a long way away from the fictional robotic maid Rosie from The Jetsons
, SoftBank said their products are a big step in that direction.

"For the first time in human history, we're giving a robot a heart, emotions," said SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son at a news conference on Thursday.

Known as Pepper, the robot prototype will absorb data secured store in the cloud, allowing it to adjust future responses and better react to its environment.
