Japan to start releasing Fukushima water into sea

Japan’s government announced it would begin releasing treated radioactive water from the Fukushima nuclear plant into the Pacific Ocean.

The move, opposed by the fishing industry, residents and the country's neighbors, is slated to begin in two years.

The plant's storage capacity is projected to be full by late next year.
