Japan is moving to place Tokyo under a coronavirus state of emergency that would last through the Olympics.
The sporting event already was slated to be held without foreign spectators, and the new emergency declaration likely means a local audience won't be present either.
The emergency declaration will be the fourth for Tokyo during the pandemic.
