Japan, Canada seek to resurrect Pacific trade deal

Ministers from 11 nations want to rebuild the Trans-Pacific Partnership that President Donald Trump stopped.

Countries including Japan, Canada, Australia and Mexico agreed over the weekend to attempt to reshape the trade deal across the Pacific Rim.

However, without the United States, the trade deal will look much different.

According to 2016 figures from the International Monetary Fund. the United States would have accounted for nearly two-thirds of TPP countries' economic output.
