The House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection released its final report on Thursday.
Among its recommendations is an ask of Congress: to bar former President Donald Trump from ever holding public office again.
The committee also is seeking wholesale expansion of federal law enforcement agencies’ scrutiny of extremist groups, among other measures, according to The Washington Post.
