James was new to SBJ Publishing in December 2007, but quickly made a place for himself as a slightly quirky, incredibly creative graphic designer. James divides his time among projects for both Springfield Business Journal and Joplin Tri-State Business. He is responsible for designs and layout for the Springfield Business Journal special products, Joplin Tri-State Business ad design and various other designs and photography projects that have a way of cropping up.

James completed an Associates Degree in graphic design at Ozark Technical Community College shortly before coming to SBJ Publishing.

James describes his current role as a "multi-tasked, fun, challenging and much like a giant boulder" he carries around every day. He said, "The thing I enjoy most about my job is the creativity I get to spew daily." He also indicated an appreciation for the prime downtown Springfield location which is within walking distance in all directions from a triple-iced espresso.
