Jim Miller, the namesake of Springfield law firm James E. Miller PC, died Feb. 20. He was 80.
Miller worked in law for 53 years before retiring around two years ago, said Alison Miller, who now runs the 1655 S. Enterprise Ave. firm with her husband Chris, Jim’s son.
“Jim loved to work and would have worked until the day he passed if he would have been able to,” Alison Miller said via email. “However, Jim was not able to work for the last two to three years.
“During that time, he was always a phone call away and he loved to assist us with legal advice.”
James E. Miller PC specializes in estate planning, probate, trust administration, real estate and corporate law, according to its
website.
During his career, Jim Miller also served as city attorney for Willard, Battlefield and Mansfield and as a board member for the Bank of Mansfield and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Historic Home & Museum, according to his
obituary.
Miller’s visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. tomorrow at Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home, 1947 E. Seminole St., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service Feb. 24 at University Heights Baptist Church, 1010 S. National Ave. A private family burial will follow.
