Jaguar Land Rover and Daimler separately announced this week plans to scale back production due to a global semiconductor shortage.
Jaguar Land Rover is stopping car production for a "limited time" at two plants in England.
"We are working closely with affected suppliers to resolve the issues and minimize the impact on customer orders wherever possible," a spokesperson with Jaguar said.
Mercedes maker Daimler is cutting the hours of up to 18,500 workers and temporarily halting production at two German plants.
