Jackson County's government approved a $7 million purchase of an east Kansas City mobile home park for the site of its new jail.
Residents of roughly 100 trailer homes will be displaced by the project.
The $260 million jail project would replace the 40-year-old Jackson County Detention Center in downtown Kansas City.
