Jack Henry to receive Hammons Founder’s Award

Posted online
For it’s corporate support of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, Monett-based Jack Henry & Associates Inc. (Nasdaq: JKHY) will be honored with the John Q. Hammons Founder’s Award.

The award is presented to companies that play a significant role in the advancement of sports in the state of Missouri and the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. Jack Henry is among the Hall of Fame’s longest-running corporate sponsors, according to a news release.

Hall of Fame spokesman Kary Booher declined to release Jack Henry’s total contributions over the years, but he said its “support has been significant.”

“They got involved with the corporate sponsorship program when we were first getting it off the ground and have continued to support us at a high level since then,” said Jerald Andrews, Hall of Fame president and executive director, in the release. “They entertain a lot of their clients and customers at our events. And, of course, they are such a strong force in Springfield and Monett, where they employ so many people. They are involved in so many charitable causes.”

The financial industry software firm has supported numerous causes over the years, including hosting the annual Jack & Jerry Memorial Charity Golf Classic in Monett since the 1980s, Relay For Life, United Way, Bowling for Kids’ Sake, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks and the Sertoma Chili Cook-Off.

The enshrinement is set for Jan. 29 at University Plaza Convention Center, 333 S. John Q. Hammons Parkway, along with the induction of 16 new individuals into the Hall of Fame. The inductees include Vince Coleman with the St. Louis Cardinals and Art Hains, voice of the Missouri State Bears.
