An employee since 1980 and president since 2004, Tony Wormington of Jack Henry & Associates Inc. (Nasdaq: JKHY) announced he will retire this summer.
Wormington informed the Monett-based technology firm's board of directors of his intention to retire from the company effective June 30. Succeeding him July 1 will be David Foss, who currently serves as president of Jack Henry's ProfitStars division, according to a news release.
Initially hired as an installer, Wormington rose through the ranks at Jack Henry, from research and development manager to vice president and general manager of technology solutions to chief operating officer.
"It's been my stated goal for many years to retire at age 50. I missed it by a year, but look forward to some relaxation and time with my wife, daughter, grandchildren and other family members," Wormington said in the release.
Foss, who joined the company in 1999 through an acquisition, was promoted to president of ProfitStars in 2009. The division serves some 11,300 financial clients.
"Dave has been a key factor in our success through his various roles at (Jack Henry), including most recently his leadership of the ProfitStars division. His strong leadership, combined with his knowledge and experience, will help us in our continued successes as a company," Jack Henry board Chairman and CEO Jack Prim said in the release.
For its fiscal second quarter ended Dec. 31, Jack Henry
posted earnings of $54 million, a 33 percent increase compared to a year earlier.
JKHY shares were trading at $58.07 as of 9:31 a.m., compared to a 52-week range of $37.90 to $60.34.
