Jack Henry & Associates Inc. April 16 reported a 35 percent increase in earnings per share for its third quarter ended March 31. The Monett-based banking computer systems company reported revenue of $27.2 million.
Quarterly revenues, earnings and earnings per share were all new records, according to the company. It was the 33rd consecutive quarter of earning growth on a year-to-year comparison.
Net income from continuing operations for the third quarter was $5.4 million , or 27 cents per share, on revenues of $27.2 million. Those figures compare to net income of $3.74 million, or 20 cents per share, on revenue of $22 million in the third quarter 1997.
The 35 percent increase in earnings per share came with a 24 percent increase in revenues comparing this year's and last year's third quarters. There was a loss from discontinued operations of $121,000 or 1 cent per share, in the most recent quarter. In the third quarter of 1997, discontinued operations accounted for an $89,000 loss.
Net income from continuing operations for the nine months that ended March 31 was $14.9 million, or 76 cents per share, on revenues of $74.7 million. Last year's nine-month totals were $11.3 million in net income, or 59 cents per share, on revenues of $61.8 million.[[In-content Ad]]
