Jack Henry acquires Profitstar

Posted online
On Friday, Monett-based Jack Henry & Associates Inc. acquired Profitstar Inc. in a deal that is expected to add up to $8 million in gross revenue in fiscal year 2006.

Jack Henry Nov. 11 purchased Omaha, Neb.-based Profitstar for an undisclosed amount to add to its asset and liability management services, according to a company news release. Profitstar also provides budget and reporting services to its more than 2,000 bank and credit union clients.

Profitstar will allow Jack Henry to market the Relationship Profitability Management services acquired when Jack Henry purchased software development company Stratika in January. The service will be an extension of Profitstar’s main product line.

Jack Henry is an integrated computer systems provider that processes ATM and debit card transactions for banks and credit unions. Shares of the company’s stock (Nasdaq: JKHY) closed Nov. 11 at $18.74, compared to a 52-week range of $18.70 to 19.05.
