JAB Holding to buy Panera Bread for $7.5B

JAB Holding announced today it penned an agreement to buy U.S. bakery chain Panera Bread in a deal valued at about $7.5 billion.

Luxembourg-based JAB owns Caribou Coffee, Peet's Coffee & Tea, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts and K-cup coffee pod-maker Keurig Green Mountain Inc.

JAB Holding offered $315 in cash for each Panera share, representing a 20.3 percent premium to the stock's March 31 closing price.
