It's time to put a woman on the $20 bill

Posted online
Andrew Jackson might've been the seventh president of the United States, but he arguably wasn't a very nice person.

His infamy as the owner of a slave plantation and the mastermind behind the Trail of Tears - the 1830 forced relocation of American Indians that caused thousands of deaths - are a couple of reasons why the group Women on 20s wants to replace Jackson's image with one of an influential woman from American history. Currently, the guide Sacagewea is on the dollar coin but no women are on paper currency.

According to CNNMoney, W20 is petitioning President Barack Obama and Congress to consider 15 female alternatives to grace the face of a $20 bill, including Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Rachel Carson and Eleanor Roosevelt. You can vote for your favorite on the group's website as well.
