It's crunch time for 93-year-old candy maker

Hammonds Candies has been making handmade candies longer than any other company in the country.

It handcrafts about 7 million candy canes annually, more than anyone else, in an expensive, laborious process that takes place mostly in the second half of the year. The canes are available in 30 flavors at places like Nordstrom, Whole Foods and Macy’s, according to CNNMoney.
 
The old-fashioned approach to crafting candies by hand has made the candy company a favorite with tourists, attracting more than 100,000 visitors every year.
