The Italian government approved a $22.2 million floor plan for Rome's ancient Colosseum.
Italian engineering firm Milan Ingegneria won the contract to design the floor, which is expected to complete by 2023. It would allow visitors to see the Colosseum from gladiators' perspective.
The 2,000-year-old monument's floor was removed by archaeologists in the 19th century, exposing an underground network of tunnels where gladiators and animals were held.
