Tonight’s festivities open with dinner at 5 p.m. at New City Park in Buffalo on North Highway 65. The evening continues with the Calling of the Clans and a 7 p.m. performance of the Ceilidh – Celtic singing accompanied by Scottish, Irish and Welsh storytelling. Admission for tonight is free.
Saturday’s festivities will run 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Performances throughout the day include storytelling by Alex Sutherland & His Cronies, music by Jon Reneau, Irish harp music by Patrick Harvey, Celtic gospel music by the Boatrights, storytelling by Todd Wilkenson, Irish folk music by Tom Meehan, Highland dancing by Flower O'Scotland and bagpipe music by Joel Wren.
Events for Saturday’s Highland Games are the caber toss, the weight swing, the stone put, the hammer toss and the sheaf toss.
Authentic food will be served by the Buffalo Optimist Club, Dallas County 4-H and the Dallas County Cattleman's Association.
Tickets for Saturday can be purchased in advance tonight at the gate for $15 for a family pass, $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and children. Tickets bought Saturday are $18 for a family pass, $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and children.
