Irish court rules Subway sandwich isn't legally bread

The Irish Supreme Court ruled that Subway sandwiches contain too much sugar to legally count as bread.

The ruling followed a Subway franchisee in Ireland attempting to claim exemption from sales taxes covering staple items.

With the court ruling, Subway's bread is not considered a staple under Irish law.
