Ireland ordered Instagram to pay a $403 million fine.
The fine comes amid an investigation into alleged mishandling of teens’ data.
“This inquiry focused on old settings that we updated over a year ago, and we’ve since released many new features to help keep teens safe and their information private," Instagram officials said, noting the company is considering an appeal.
